Application Process
How do I get into an
Apprenticeship Program?
You
must meet the minimum requirements of the Program Sponsor in
order to make application for testing. The minimum requirements
are:
- Minimum age: All applicants
must be at least 18 years of age. A birth certificate
or a valid Driver's License for proof of age only.
- Education requirements: At
the time of making application, the applicant must present
proof of graduation from high school or a certificate
showing a minimum score of 35 in each test and 45 overall in
the General Education Development (GED) Test.
- Physical requirements: Each
applicant must be physically able to perform all work of the
occupations covered by the Program.
- Each applicant must be able
to read, write and speak the English Language in order to
comprehend instructions in the related instruction classes
and on the job to insure personal and co-worker safety.
- Before final acceptance into
the Program as an apprentice, you will be required to take a
drug screening test and successfully pass it.
Applicants are allowed to make application and test two times
per calendar year. A calendar year is January 1st to December
31st. Applications must be made in person and are taken the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
Applications are taken at the Training Center located at 1303
North Rabe Ave., Suite 102, in Fresno, California.
The Applicants Test
The Applicants Test is a basic 12th grade math examination. The
examination consists of 76 math problems taken from GED Prep
Books. There are 20 numerical and 56 word problems. The
applicant has two and one-half hours to complete the
examination. Calculators are not permitted to be used
during the examination.
